Program Accreditation Status

The Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare Paramedic Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). Initial accreditation was achieved in 2009 and the program was re-accredited in 2013. We are currently in another re-accreditation cycle with our Site Visit scheduled for May 2019.

As of January 1, 2016, all accredited programs are required to publish outcomes data from their Annual Report for public access on the program website. The desired threshold is 70% for all categories. The outcomes for Faxton St. Luke’s reflected in the 2017 Annual Report for accreditation are:

New York State Written Exam Results 94.6% Passing
Retention 56.7 (43.3 Attrition)
Positive Job Placement 100% Employed

Overall, we are very happy with our current numbers. Looking at the numbers collectively would indicate that most everyone who completes the program passes their exams and finds a job in the field.
